A New Way for Copreneurs to Connect

in

It's been a busy year so far as we make plans to improve NCS. One of the big changes will be an improvement to the NCS Web site and launch of membership benefits.

Stay tuned this month for a more interactive online experience. Plus, you'll have access to more resources for couples in business and those that support them.

In the meantime, visit our new Couples in Business Network blog.

Happy New Year

Here's to a great 2010 for National Copreneur Society, for copreneurs everywhere, and for those that support them. Check back in January for new member benefits for the Society.

5 Reasons Why You Should Go to Copreneur Camp

The National Copreneur Society is hosting a Copreneur Camp next Friday and Saturday (October 23rd & 24th). This virtual/online conference for couples in business contains all the usual features of an in-person conference: presentations, networking, and goodie "bag" - plus some fun things you might not have considered.

If you haven't signed up already, here are 5 reasons why you should:

5. Kick back in your PJs from the comfort of your home (or office!) while learning from some of the most knowledgable copreneurs, coaches, consultants, and authors: Paul and Sarah Edwards, Jean Charles, Henry Chow and Marissa Carlos, Jill Helmle, Patty Newbold, Joanne Pratt, Kerri Salls, and Becky Stewart-Gross, Ph.D.

4. See how many times during the sessions you can tell your partner "That's EXACTLY what I said to you last week" without your partner getting upset.

3. Consider the Saturday sessions a built-in "Date Day". Don't worry, we'll be done in time for date night.

2. Finally come to a consensus on the best work-life balance percentage during the Copreneur Roundtable.

1. Contribute to the mob mentality: less than 1% of the US copreneurs will be in the same place at the same time (there ARE supposed to be around 2 million of us!)

Mariah Carey "Mom and Pop" Song Lyric

in

If you haven't heard it already, Mariah Carey has released a song called "Obsessed" that is a verbal attack toward rapper, Eminem. One of the key song lyrics is:

“You’re a mom & pop, I’m a corporation.
I’m a press conference, you’re a conversation.”

Yes, they are just song lyrics, but they add to the myth that mom & pop shops aren’t real businesses. It is a bit offensive.

How can we as copreneurs overcome this stigma? Do you have customers and clients that hesitate to work with you once they find out you're a copreneur?
